Mote is developing a first-of-a-kind technology for woody waste biomass that removes CO2 from the air and produces clean hydrogen to help the world meet climate goals, improve air quality, and reduce wildfires.  We are developing modular projects based on our innovative and groundbreaking biomass gasification process that also enables permanent carbon sequestration. We are looking for standout individuals who are driven by reversing climate change to join our growing team, to help build our company and to contribute to our culture. 

The Technology Team will enable decarbonization at scale by focusing on the development, implementation, and deployment of technology innovations through R&D and process improvements. The Technology Team will also provide technical support to internal and external customers.

The Site Manager is to ensure Mote’s Los Angeles commercial space is ready to occupy and receive pre-assembled pilot plant skids, as well as to manage the laboratory and pilot plant installation and start-up.  This is a part-time position (10-20 hrs/week) for approximately 9 months.

Responsibilities

  • Define scopes of work, request bids, evaluate, award and manage building contractors required to safely build-out office and lab space, as well as to receive, hook-up and commission the pilot plant.
  • Ensure utility and waste disposal accounts are set up and activated when necessary to support the above.
  • Work with Mote’s permitting consultant to ensure LADBS, SCAQMD and any other permits are obtained when necessary
  • Establish office safety and emergency response protocols
  • Quantify and procure initial inventories of office and lab supplies, as well as pilot plant consumables

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • A commitment to safety and working safely
  • 5 years or more of relevant industrial building services or industrial office management
  • 2 or more projects of similar scopes where candidate had significant influence on the outcome
  • Experience working directly with LADBS or SCAQMD and utility providers

Preferred Qualifications

  • College certificate or degree in relevant field
  • Good communicator, both verbal and written
  • Effective planner, organized, accountable
  • Self-motivated and outgoing within a team environment
  • Functional in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project a plus

Pay and Benefits

At Mote, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.  This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow within a role.  Your base pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
